My Story

I am a designer and maker of objects that adorn the body. I came to jewellery making from a visual arts background. My jewellery practice is a natural and very enjoyable extension of my other arts practices of ceramics and sculpture. I knew the first time that I stepped into the jewellery studio at university that I had found my muse.

My Work

My work is closely linked to the natural environment especially the landscapes of Tasmania. The temperate rainforests, the pastures of the Midlands, the ancient dolerite mountains and the all surrounding sea which is never very far away.
These landscapes provide me with minute fragments, those insignificant details that inspire and urge me to create my work. These may be smooth beach stones, lichens, bleached wood, and also photographs and vivid memories. These inspirations, tactile and ephemeral, are transformed into jewellery and small sculpture that evoke what I see as the essence of this place.
